The sermon was delivered on Sunday, May 20, 2018, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Bishop Carlton D. Pearson, Affiliate Minister.
"I'm for truth, no matter who tells it. I'm for justice, no matter who it's for or against." —Malcolm X
Justice is the legal, moral or philosophical theory by which fairness is administered. The concept of justice often differs somewhat in every culture.
Justice can be more mental than moral, or the other way around. Consciousness is the missing link to what is otherwise a cold and caustic concept. When applied without compassion and emotion, justice can be far more destructive than constructive. Justice need never be Draconian, but compassionate and sensitive to its individual beneficiaries. Here at All Souls we both intend and insist that Justice become and remain a working reality in our world!
