How free do you feel to be you? Are you an “other-directed” person who is influenced in your decisions and actions primarily by other people? Or are you a “self-directed person who is willing to disappoint others and go against the grain in order to be true to yourself? What are the costs of either way of being and what are the benefits? Sometimes we act in ways that we think others expect of us, and in doing so we can miss each other completely.
