May 14, 2017
The sermon was delivered on Sunday, May 14, 2017, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Rev. Dr. Marlin Lavanhar, Senior Minister.
At some time every one of us would like to be given another chance and would prefer not to have to pay the full consequences of our actions or inactions. We've done something wrong. We wish we had not done it or at least we wish we had not been caught. True justice would see us punished, but with some mercy we might go free. A world without justice would be uninhabitable. A world without mercy would be inhumane. In May we begin with a new monthly theme of mercy. Our Universalist forbearers had a great capacity for mercy.
