The reflection was delivered on Sunday, September 18, 2016, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the Humanist Service by Rev. Barbara Prose, Executive Director of Ministry.
When we cling to an idealized image of love, our marriages fail.
When we stay attached to our parents’ projection of who we are supposed to be, we pass up on opportunities to fulfill our own unique destiny. When we dream about the congress and the country we wish existed, we can become cynical or disengaged. How would your life change if you stopped dreaming? If you let go of your habit of wishful thinking and embraced your life just as it is? This Sunday we will explore how our visions and dreams prevent us from living and loving ourselves and each other right now.
