Apr 9, 2017
The sermon was delivered on Sunday, April 9, 2017, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Rev. Dr. Marlin Lavanhar, Senior Minister.
On Sunday, on the eve of determining the next steps towards All Souls’ future, it was important for us to first join in worship. It was a time to remember how important this congregation is to each of us and to our community. After the abrupt resignation of Unitarian Universalist Association President, Peter Morales, it's more important than ever to focus on the future of Unitarian Universalism in the 21st century and our future in Tulsa.
The potential is great, the stakes are high and the emotions are mixed. One thing that unites us, even in times of difference, is the call of our free faith. Let’s gather together to support each other. Let’s meet and connect with others who attend a different service. Let’s listen to each of our choirs sing. Let us strengthen the ties of love which bind us together, giving dignity, meaning, worth and joy to all our days.
