The sermon was delivered on Sunday, July 17, 2016, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Bishop Carlton D. Pearson, Affiliate Minister.

SERMON DESCRIPTION

Conflict is a form of friction. In psychology, conflict is defined as a condition in which a person experiences a clash of opposing wishes or needs. To feel incompatible or at variance; to clash.

Friction, on a personal and human level, is conflict or animosity caused by a clash of wills, temperaments, or opinions. Newton’s third law suggests that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. Walking and working through this reality must be deliberate and intentional rather than combative. The key is finding the emotional lubricant that makes conflict bearable and even productive.
