Jul 12, 2015
The sermon was delivered on Sunday, July 12, 2015, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Rev. Gerald Davis, Affiliate Minister.
As part of the Summer Sermon Series on Sources of Our Faith, we will examine the Source, “Wisdom from the world’s religions that inspires us in our ethical and spiritual life.” Our lens to this source will be the incomparable life of Malcolm X or as he is known by some, El Hadj Malik El Shabazz. What caused Malcolm, the spokesperson for the separatist group, Nation of Islam, to change not only his name, but his entire worldview? We will try to elucidate the wisdom of Islam and propose how change can be more than reinvention.
