The sermon was delivered on Sunday, January 31, 2016, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Rev. Barbara Prose, Executive Director of Ministry.
Our state is broke. We’re having an average of 5 earthquakes a day. Our national elections are around the corner. 40% of OK residents vote. And we, as a community of liberal religious people, are conscientiously working to make this world a better place, putting our hearts, minds, and elbow grease into making Tulsa a little piece of heaven here on earth.
Let's imagine you have the power to create a new law in the state of Oklahoma.
What issue would you choose to focus on? What do you think would accomplish the most good for the most people? Imagine you can’t choose by yourself but are being invited to share your own stories with others so that we can work together to create a new law or change an old one - right here in Oklahoma.
Now imagine you are successful. If this feels like a dream, it’s a dream about to come true, because we are the ones we’ve been waiting for.
