May 6, 2018
The sermon was delivered on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Bishop Carlton D. Pearson, Affiliate Minister.
“Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals.” —Martin Luther King, Jr.
Life is neither equal of fair, so we must learn to find justice in the life and psyche of our world that tends to be terrible and impossible at times. Justice is rooted in the word just which means behaving according to what is morally right and fair. This makes it hard to believe that life is fair. So, if indeed you feel that life isn’t fair, then how can we access and execute justice?
During May, All Souls will present weekly discussions, sermons and lectures around the subject of the human virtue and vice of justice, fairness and equality.
*Musical performance by Sarah Maud (vocals) and Jordan Hehl (bass).
