Jul 30, 2017
The sermon was delivered on Sunday, July 30, 2017, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Rev. Dr. Marlin Lavanhar, Senior Minister.
It is said that after the Battles of Lexington and Concord John Adams became the voice for independence at the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia. As we finish a month of messages on the gifts of independence and American faith, I will look at what we might learn from the first Vice President and second President of the United States that can give us inspiration in these days that are marked more by discord than concord.
