May 15, 2016

The sermon was delivered on Sunday, May 15, 2016, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Rev. Dr. Marlin Lavanhar, Senior Minister.

SERMON DESCRIPTION

If grace is a gift freely given to all people including the righteous and the wicked, how are you doing in relationship to grace? Are you “making space for grace” as Rev. Barbara Prose asked last Sunday? Is there room in your daily life and in your heart for love and spirit to enter in new and surprising ways? It is Pentecost Sunday and opening oneself as a vessels of the spirit is how the first church service began. It was an eclectic and diverse group of people who gathered on Pentecost and found their lives transformed. How are we like them and what is required for us to open ourselves as recipients and as conduits of God’s love? What would it mean if we did?
