Message delivered on Sunday, November 18, 2012, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Eric Banner, Intern Minister.
It's not hard to choose gratitude when times are easy, but it is even more important to choose gratitude when times are tough. In this message I explore what Oklahomans know about surviving hard times, like the Dust Bowl and having your house burn down, and yet still finding something to be grateful for. The first step is having a regular practice of gratitude, and using times like Thanksgiving to remind ourselves of all that we already have to be grateful for, especially when it feels like there's nothing but the blue sky and a stool to sit on. What will you find to be grateful for, even when the rain doesn't come?
